David Bradley Walk Behind

alright here we go, I finally got the model number and serial number off of it. The model number is 500 and the serial number is 853414 does anyone know the year this tractor was built. Im still searching for more info on this tractor.

ya there is no hood it has a 5 hp B&S engine i guess that is what it is. So this tractor is made with out a hood? It also came with a cultivator,Front blade, mower deck and sickle bar mower.

Apparently you got the model # from the engine. The model # of the tractor will be on a brass plate on the side of the transmission. It will start with 917.

Sears used model #s starting with 500, on Briggs engines that they used on some of their equipment. Sounds like your DB still has the original engine. Tractors with 5 HP, or larger engines, did not have a hood. With the smaller engines, they usually had a hood, but there was an economy model offered, which had no hood.

Just tossing this in--- if you saw the American Restoration show (last night on our cable) there was a guy with a 2 wheel walk behind David Bradley (he may have bought it from the show host) that wanted it restored like new, also a cart for he and his grandkids to ride on. The estimated cost was $12,000! Without hardly batting an eyelash he said "do it" and they did.
