I have a 1977 or newer full side LGT 145 without a motor. Can anyone send me pictures of what the motor looks like so I know what to look for. Thanks in advance, Jim

Those tractors used the Kohler K321 engine that's rated at 14hp. You would need the spec number like 60244 or 60248 there may have been others. That's the only engine that will fit that frame. Hal

I have a 165 closed side. I just overhauled my K341, if I would have known I would have taken pictures. The engine should be pretty easy. It takes a narrow base K series Kohler with a cast iron oil pan. The part I would be worried about are the engine mounting plates and the hydro drive hub, those are Ford specific. The electric PTO clutch is also peculiar to the Ford due to a double pulley. Even a used K series is not a cheap proposition, and most need overhauled by now. Cheapest used K341 I found was $250 and it was a smoker. I only had about that in redoing mine, with new piston, rod, valves, and boring the block. They are neat and robust tractors. They mow awesome, they were built by Jacobsen and show it.

Hey Sprint6, thanks for the reply. My name is really Jim, not debra(my wife)I have a Jake GT14Hydro built around 1972 that I redid but as I use it , it"s getting a little ratty. They are great tractors. I picked up the Ford cheap without a motor. I"m putting in a k301 that I already have just to make sure the trans & lift work. It"s in the tractor already. Oil pan, engine mounts, drive hub are all the same. I know the the K321AQS is diff in some places especially exhaust. I"ve never seen one in a tractor & mine came with some engine parts & some good pics of the whole thing would be great help in seeing how it all goes together. Thanks, Jim

Hey,man that's a fine looking tractor. I hope the one I have can look that good sometime. Thanks for the reply. This Ford I got came without an engine that should be a K321AQS and it did come with some parts . I've never seen one in a tractor so some good pics of the engine in the tractor would be a great help especially the muffler side. I have the muffler & the heat shield that goes around it,but I don't know how it all goes together. Even if I come up with a good K321AS, I already have the parts to make it work & pictures will show me what else I need. Thanks, & its Jim, not debra
