Roof Walk Behind Mower

About a week ago, I got a Roof Walk Behind Mower from my grandparents farm. It has a 8HP Briggs on it which is very powerful. I cleaned up the outside of the engine and also the carb. The thing runs great. Changed the oil to. Everything on the mower turns freely and had to replace nothing but one of the tubes in the tires. Already mowed with it once now and performs great except for it getting really hot around the cooling fins and the Muffler. But that's going to be normal for a mower that hasn"t run in about 20 years. The throttle controller broke and was stuck so had to take it off and use a rubber band to hold the throttle up. Not the first thing on my list right now to replace.

The one thing I was going to ask is if I could get a bag for the mower. If you know, please reply and/or email me about it . Ill give you the Model and Serial Numbers for help.

So if you do know where I can get a bag for this mower, it would be very helpful for you to tell me. Also I am wondering about the model name of this mower. I think it's a Roof Ranger Walk Behind but if I'm wrong, please correct me. Thanks.

I was given a Roof mower that looks exactly like yours. I had it running but haven't had time to restore it as yet. I do have a sulky cart that goes on back to ride on. I will check tomrrow and see if it's the same model as yours or not. I know mine has a guard over the belts.

I got a chance to see my mower this morning and mine only states on the plate that the model is an RD no number. The serial # is 7980. I don't have a bagger for mine either although the mounting holes are the same as your picture. It's a 27' cut and the wheels are 20' on both mower and sulky. A decal on the sulky only says Roof Mower Co. The decal on the belt guard for the mower is nice. It's a round circle with horse and rider in it and above the circle it says Roof Mower and below it says The Working Breed. That's all I can help you with.

Hey thanks for trying to help though. I want anyone who can reply to reply. But thanks though.

I just got a roof sulky in a package deal on a Simplicity walk behind. It looks to be original but would like to see a picture of a original. Maybe a good close up of decal so one could be made. Would like to restore back.
Thanks,
Dennis

Have you ever seen any good pictures of the sulky?
I'm looking for some to do a restore on one. Would like a close up of decal so one could be made from it.
Thanks

I just gone my Roof mower this last weekend from my dad he had it for years but i need a little help get it going going CJSuhr could you take a picture of the blade pulley the a 1/4 rod right next to it that's not hook up mine.. thanks

Here you go. I took the engine off and working on it
right now. I'm planning on adding a starter and belt
cover on it with a storage place for all the
electrical work for the starter. Then adding a
different fuel tank cause current one wont work with
the starter. Then adding a candy apple red coat of
paint and a bright white coat of paint on the
engine. Then a few decals.
