John Deere 345 Dies when trying to move forward or reverse

I crank the engine, it runs fine. I try to move forward or reverse and it dies. It is not in a bind, it acts like a safety switch is bad. I have jumped the seat and transaxle switches and can move forward and reverse. When I do that and engage the PTO switch, the engine dies.

The seat sw may be the problem,if you installed a jumper in seat sw connector you're probably simulating a nobody sitting on seat condition & telling tractor kill eng ign when pto engaged,as ign kill circuit runs thru pto sw & interlock module.

Check operation of pto sw with an ohmmeter/powered test light, also check that sw being actuated by seat.

Yep sounds like a saftey interlock switch but could be a bad PTO coil drawing too much current and drawing down the batt voltage if the engine has an automotive type ignition coil on it.
Seen that happen.
You could monitor the batt voltage while operating the GT to check for this issue.
