I have an old Milwaukee Equipment tiller that tilts the engine to tighten the belt. Copy and paste the link below for a picture - it is like mine.
Never heard of a Michigan brand.

The old Milwaukee Equip tiller brings back some memories. Back in 56-57 worked after school for a one man feed store. Among his other enterprises he did custom garden tilling.
He had 2 of the larger tillers with 2 cyl Onan engines & a few modifications. Tough old machines, heavy built. Added a tine spider to each side & widened the dirt shield to cover. Had to put on dual wheels to hold them back, ag bar tread backwards from normal, otherwise the tines would push the rig along. They had a 2 speed trans on the wheels, solid drive axle with a hub clutch for easy turning. Handle height was easy adjustable & also swung side to side so no foot tracks in the tilled ground. Easy to operate, just walk along & nudge the handles occasionally to keep going straight. IIRC there were 6 or 7 control rods on the handle bracket for various functions. Main clutch tilted the motor to tighten the belts (3), spring loaded to keep them tight.
Time to quit rambling.
