I am having trouble with the clutch slipping , I
took it a part and cleaned it up, disc looks fine. I
tightened the screws that hold it together were they
had been, then put it back together and it works
fine till I put the belt on and it won't pull the
mower deck, the deck turns free, do I not have the
screws that hold it when in gauged tight enough?
thanks

Sounds like it's time for a PTO rebuild kit, it'll come with the gauge to properly set the tension.....

You need the proper gauge to get the correct spacing between the disc and drive plate. The rebuild kit comes with the gauge.

Go to eBay and type in "Cub Cadet PTO Clutch Kit". If the engine and PTO are original, you need kit # 759-3489. This is about $10 cheaper than Cub Cadet sells it for.

ksguy33:

Cub Cadet has two (2) different PTO rebuild kits. There are Kits for the Narrow Frame (NF) & Wide Cubs (WF). The 129 is a WF.

Now during that product CC, changed the design of that PTO to comply with Gov't standards. So, they implemented a PTO with a brake provision.

So, you will need [b:110852baa0]759-3489[/b:110852baa0] Rebuild Kit
