Synthetic 90w in mower deck gear box

Anyone have an opinion (Hah!) on using Synthetic 90w gear lube in the mower deck gear box. This is on an old Troybilt/Garden way tractor.

Do not use synthetic oil in your old Troy-bilt machine! Read these columns-somebody has posted the correct stuff to use. Wait for replies. the new oils are not good for those old machines. the correct gear oil has sulphur in it, which keeps the bronze axle and other bushings from developing a groaning noise when they are used. That oil will eventually destroy the bronze bushings! Take heed!! by: Rusty Jones
