Looking for help identifying my new old walk behind field mower. I was told it is a Gravely but it has belt drive and I don"t find many Gravely pictures with belt drive. I can"t find a model number on it. The engine is a Briggs 23DFB which seems to date at 1963. It is red like a farmall like color. I will try to figure out how to upload some pics but i guess I need a handle to do that, might take some time.
It has pull start where you wrap a cord around it no auto recoil. It has a magneto and a metal farm tractor style seat that pulls behind.
Also looking for advice on starting it, probably hasn"t run in a long time but it is in good condition overall. Should i put oil of some kind in the cylinder? i will clean the tank and glass fuel filter. replace spark plug. clean air cleaner (replace when i find one). clean the magneto. I though maybe i could use a drill with a socket on it to crank it.
