I'm looking and a restored 1967 landlord garden tractor, the owner has used it and in the middle of restoration a gear went out, I'm assuming a transmission gear; I don't know much about tractors but want one since I just brought property and willing to learn. Before talking to the owner; I would like to know if I can get these kind of parts, where do I look? If its too rare ortoo pricey because of the type age ect.. I would rather not bother the owner about details of this particular tractor. If anyone has information please drop me a line.

Is it a Simplicity Landlord? If it is most parts are available at a Simplicity dealer. A lot of parts for these tractors come of as used parts on E-bay. The Simplicity Landlord is a good tractor.

It is most likely the bevel gearbox gears, as this is the week link, in a great tractor. I own a Soverign , and It has suffered that malody.

Just my two cents. My dad has one of these and the belt adjustment can be a total nightmare to adjust! His had those little spring fingers busted off. If they are not there yooooou can't get the tranny to go out of gear correctly. He loves that tractor.

If you are well versed in mechanical procedures, you might stand a chance of fixing the transmission. If not--run the other way. Those machines try the minds of folks much more experienced with them. Go buy a new machine--it will save yer sanity, and the grass won't be up to yer ears by the time you get it fixed--if ever! RJ
