GT2554 transmission operation

Gentlemen
I have a GT2554 that has 376 hours running time. I have had it for three years ( bought it used at 150+ hours ) Since I have had the tractor when its cold out at first start up the tractor will not move or move slowly. Worse in reverse. In the winter ( Pa cold ) it may have to run 15/20 minutes to move. In the summer it is much better and I mow ever week ( about 1 1/2 hours ). I am a mechanic by trade and have my own garage ( cars & light trucks ). Early in my career I worked at a cub cadet dealer ( 60s ) and worked on the early hydrostatic transmissions so I have a understanding of how they operate, even rebuilt some. However that was long ago and I am looking for some help to get me going in the right direction. I change the fluid ever year with the correct fluid and filter bought from our local long time cub cadet dealer for this tractor ( no it is not the early type fluid ). It acts like its bypassing internaly for some reason. I was told there are valves that bypass oil at their o-rings? I have adjusted the linkage with no change? I have no history before I got the tractor. Any help would be great. Writen info, links, etc.

That machine has a HydroGear BDU 10 transaxle. There are manuals on eBay and an article or so about them on the Tractor Data website.
