hi this trimmer is 2010 like new less 5 6 hrs. was weeding it shout off .no fire from coil to plug removed motor check flywheel key all ok removed kill wire no fire . replace with new coil no fire made sure coil base grounded good to motor no fire run ground wire from coil base to motor no fire put old coil back on no fire dont have mutch hair pulling on that bad could use some help men have a bless day.

If you're checking for spark useing old plug, try a new plug, old plug may be bad.Check magnets in flywheel that they aren't missing/cracked,check that you have correct flywheel/coil air gap, check for sloppy, worn or bad crank bearings, crank may be shifting under compression load due to bad bearings & changeing flywheel/coil air gap.

air gap on those coils is .010. if you used a business card like in the olden days its way too thick. Use a feeler gauge.

I would try some different plugs before going any further. Hang the ground wire out away from everything else.

I had a poulan trimmer where in the directions it said I could only run it for 5 minutes at full speed than I had to let it rest for a couple minutes.this was a couple of years ago and not sure about the times.stopped running on me,and took it back to home depot.it was not a cheap trimmer.something happened to the engine!
