Hi fokes I have a Question for the brain trust
I would like an approximate value for a Ingersoll 4018 It is about 15 years old? with a mowerdeck, snowblower, rototiller and chipper all in average to good condition. We have no idea of price and need some guidence.Serial# and hours are unknown. Thanks in advance Neil

How can anyone assess the value of that package when there are no photos to determine the condition? If all you want is a wild guess, then I'd say that $2500.00 would be the lowest value IF...average to good is really the condition.

4018 with onan engine guide book gives320.00 to 235.00 4018 with briggs says2600 to 1295.00 this would be mower wih deck only inboth cases. if on my lot would let 1500.00 have the pile. chippers just don't hold much value in m y area. he snowblower and tiller attachment in my are of that type 75 to 100.00 each if lucky. good luck

Neil.
As you can see, you are getting some opinions that vary widely. Perhaps this will help. If you were to go into an Ingersoll dealer tomorrow and price the package you listed, the figure at the bottom of the page would read $17,182.00 IF… you could still get the chipper/shredder……which you cannot.

A decent SB48 snocaster often brings $450 on C/L or e-Bay, a decent tiller will bring $400. The sleeve hitch is worth $150 but if this tractor has the HH 34 three point hitch, then those bring $550 or more because a new one is $1004. In addition, there would be a F-27 Sleeve Hitch Adapter with the package to mount the tiller to the three point and that is worth $150.00 all day long.

The Chipper/Shredder cost more than $2500.00 at one point. The rear PTO valve would bring $250 as a used item on the open market. A good RM48 deck will fetch $300 and a decent 4018 with average hours is worth $1000.00 because a new one costs $7419.00.

What something costs new has a certain relevancy but it is simple a benchmark upon which to judge the same item in used condition. Without seeing this package in person and in the absence of a slew of photos that show every attachment and the tractor from various angles,

it is very difficult to ascertain whether the condition is in line with the prices I quoted. As an example, a tiller or snowcaster that is badly rusted might fall from 400 and 450 to 124 and 100 respectively because they need to be dismantled completely, sand blasted to bare metal, primed, painted and re-assembled. That takes time and money and while you are doing that, you will install new bearings, seals and chain anyway because it is already apart.

Condition is everything and especially when an Onan engine is involved because of the cost to rebuild one. The Onan is a premium quality product and the parts prices reflect that quality. So doing both a compression test and a leak down test are highly recommended.

And even if those look good, you still need to hope that the former owner diligently changed the oil and filter every 50 hours of operation and never allowed the oil level to fall below the ADD mark on the dipstick.

This is an excellent package providing you have use for it all but you must get it at the right price. Prices shown in some “guide book” rarely reflect the true value of Case or Ingersoll tractors and attachments. If this package was sitting on an Ingersoll dealer’s lot, he would be asking $3600.00 for it if it had a sleeve hitch and $4200.00 if it had the 3 point hitch.

However, he would have serviced it totally and he would be backing it up with his own warranty for at least 6 months after the purchase. But that pricing is based upon a low hour tractor with everything in excellent condition. This would be a package you could take home and use instantly. No repairs would be needed. No parts would have to be replaced.

If what you are looking at matches that condition, then you could go as high as $3200.00 and go home a happy camper.

Here is a 448 on Craigslist for $850 with fewer attachments than yours, maybe give you a starting point.
