I also havea 416 that I was told was a 1972.My dad gave it to me in about 1996. I ran it about 8 years until the governor let go and the balance shaft broke out the side of the block. Mine was hydrostatic. My neighbor gave me a 414, which was about the same, except with a 14 horse Kohler instead of a 16hp. The 414 had a belt drive mechanical transmission with a variable speed provided by adjustable sheave widths. I transplanted the 14 hp into mine and ran it about5 years until the rod broke. Both engines were using a lot of oil when they blew. I just parked the tractor and it still sits there. |

| Where are you located, do they both have holes in the block? I'd like to have a 414 and 416 then I'd have all the 400 series tractors. |

| Grundy Center Iowa. I only have the 14 horse engine. It does not have a hole in the block. I got rid of most of the components of the 414. What I have left of the 416 has been mostly used up. Let me know if you are interested. |

| Well if there not all there I don't know how interested I am, and your about three hours from me. I'll keep you in mind, if I decide I'm interested I'll make a new post on here and ask for you. Might be a good next year project if you still have them next year I might be asking you about them again. |
