Cub Cadet snowblowers

After yesterday I decided I needed a 2 stage blower for my IH built 782. My question is will a 450 model fit my 782 gas or my 782D? I have a QA42 on my gas now. I've never seen a 450 blower in person, but the pics look like it should mount right on. I've also been told that all the 450 blowers were made by CCC and not IH. I'm kind of partial to the IH built stuff, so did IH ever make a 2 stage blower? I've seen parts on ebay for a model 268, but that could also be a walk behind or something.

Goto link below, click on cub cadet logo(blue)enter 782 or 782D in search on left side of pg,scroll thru assembly drawings/parts listing, after that is a list of all mod# attachements that fit 782,several snowblowers listed 2 haben units listed(42" & 48")in addition to others listed.

After looking at blowers try going to www.ihcubcadet.com,you may be able to get additional info about blower on forums at website.

The auction where I bought this one had two others painted yellow with CC decals. This one was made by MTD If you search Google images for 782 Cub Cadet snowblowers it looks just like mine

BOBM25,

I don't think the model 450 will exactly fit your 782. I have a 149 wideframe and I tried to hook my blade from it to my 1882. It did not fit. I can't remember for sure, but I think it was not long enough to clip into the back frame. Granted the blade isn't the same as a blower, but it did not bolt right up.

I think the 782 and the 149 can take most, if not all, the same attachments, but don't quote me on that. Maybe someone else could verify if the 782 and 149 are interchangeable with attachments?

Now my 1882 has a model 450 blower on it, so I know for sure it does fit it. Could it be made to fit your 782, maybe, with a lot of work. I went through the same exercise last year with my 149, as it has a QA36 single stage blower, and does not work well at all in the slush. My solution was to buy the 1882 and scrounge for a blower last summer. I just used it yesterday and today during the snowstorm. It worked pretty well, much better than the single stage. It is interesting to note that my brand new Ariens 8 hp walk behind, will throw the snow much father than the model 450. But it is 20 years newer and the blower designs have advanced over the course of time.

Happy New Year,

I have a 450 on a ccc 782. My set up was sold together in1985 (I have the original bill of sale). An IH 782 may need a bracket retro-fitted on the rear, for the rails you see in the pic run the length of the tractor. Everything else to my understanding is the same.

YES, the 190-450 snowblower will fit on your 782. The 190-450 was built by CCC/MTD.

IF you want to stay IH, then the QA36-42B snowthrower was the correct snow removal equipment for that model.
