I have a 420 that freewheels. When going down a hill I have to pull the speed control way back and when i get to the bottom it stops, I have to push the lever forward . I am going to change the transmission oil filter, Any ideas on what can be done about it? Thanks for any that respond

Ur problem is simple Depending on age of tractor the hydro linkages vary Problem is u have excessive play in the linkage Most likly spot is the arm that hooks to the transmission The arm is attached to the trans by a roll pin it is probably broken or the arm is sloppy on the shaft other sloppy areas in linkage will cause problems too
