Anything I need to know about a 1655 (I think) MF garden tractor? It sort of looks like a small 1155 MF tractor. Found one for sale. This thing is a beast. It has a 2 cylinder Onan engine, hydraulics, foot pedal drive, tractor lug tires, and front snow blade. It looks to be mostly complete and not all beat up. It's had a barnyard brush paint job but it isn't all rusty. I did not start or operate it but supposedly everything works. There is no mower deck. Seller says it is an early 1980's and it's made by Snapper. What's it worth and what should I look for? Thanks.

One other thing. Not trying to tell you what to buy but I think you'd be happier with a Allis 716 or 916 if you want one that size. I'm not a huge Allis fan but I will admit mines nicer than my massey and a lot funner to run, pulls more and outweighs it just nicer all the way around. Just my two cents but buy whatever you want that's your decesion

One of the better quality Garden tractors built in that era, components are pretty much standard fare,Sundstrand hyro, peerless rear and Onan engine still lots of these parts around but if it runs and operates OK you probably won't need much. Also has nice hydraulics and about the heaviest built Cat 0 3pt on any garden tractor

My uncle has an 1855 which I have repaired/maintained for him for probably about ten years. Tough old tractors alright. Some parts are getting hard to find. Also very expensive if you find parts. That being said I'm not sure if you can buy this kind of tough tractor any more. These are well built.

I would have to disagree, I have a Massey 10 which is quiet a
bit older and you can go to a Massey ferguson dealer and
order any part on the tractor or deck and they are resonable. I
put all the deck bearings in with seals and all new blades and
one belt for 123 dollars which is very cheap. And they had
them all on hand when I went there. Parts are easy to find and
cheap my experience anyways

I have one with the front snow blade, snowblower, rear blade and 3 point. Would not trade this tractor for a thing. This old tractor is a beast and yes they were built by snapper

If its nice I'd say between 750 and 1000 dollars, make sure the hydraulics and hydro works as it should. But of it has ag tires on it there worth 300 alone and there nice I have a set on my Allis and they will really make garden tractors pull. And it is made by snapper like he says

Yahoo groups does have a Massey Ferguson Garden Tractor section. Might post your question there too.
