mower deck on a cub cadet 122 tractor

how do i take the mower deck off of the cub cadet 122 tractor i have just purchaced this tractor an i have no instructions how to take off the mower deck i do not want to mess something up by taking off the wrong parts i know i have to take off the belt drive from the front of the engine pto there are many brackets it looks like with cotter pins in them it would be nice if i had pics of this process

If you pull the pins off the eye bolts in the front and the pins off the slotted brackets in the rear, you can take off the mower and leave the under carriage. Pull the mower out the side.

thank you i will give this a try tomorrow i just bought this tractor i got a snow blade , dump cart, wheel weights (on tractor) chains, 3 new blades on mower deck, new seat, all fittings have been kept up new bar going from wheel to wheel on front wheels tractor has been restored to very very good conditioned, starts first turn of key runs excellent. i paid $400.00 for it i am in heaven love it

Sounds like a great deal. I have a lot of cub cadets, from the orginal up to the 169. I believe that the Cub Cadet's made by International Harvester were the best garden tractors ever made.

Lower the deck to where the wheels are touching the ground.

Pull the two pins out at the rear of the deck (The rear of the deck will be free)

Push the mower deck forward until it drops off the front forks.

Raise the bare hanger.

Turn the tractor wheels all the way to the left.

Slide the deck out from under the tractor from the right side.

If you have the first style, pull the cotter pins or hair pins in the front eye bolts and on the back eyelets and slip mower off the pins, leaving the mule drive attatched to the tractor. The other instructions below are if it has been converted to the later quick attach deck.

thanks for all the help to get the mower deck off. i pulled the pins out of the front eye bolts and pulled out the pins at rear slotted brakets the mower came out with a little help i'm sure it will be a lot easier to put back on. i am trying to put a snow blade on it now but i don't have all the parts i will make it work i have it mounted now but i need to make a handle to raise the blade i have an old handle from a sears blade i think i can make that work i hope again thanks for the replys
