Chain Saw Help

I have a 16' Homelite Saw. The chain & bar does not get any oil. Can someone give me some advice on this. Thanks.

I would need to see a diagram. If it is one where the engine has to be removed from the case to work on it, then I suggest buying a new one.

If you take the bar off, sometimes the oiling path will be clogged with caked sawdust. Examing the holes in the bar and the hole where the oil is supposed to be coming out of the case.

Some have a mechanical pump that is under the chain clutch. Others use vaccuum to pump the oil.

Post a model number and someone might be more familiar with it than I am.

The saw is probably 10 years old. I am not where I can see it today. I do think the engine may have to be removed to work on it. I pull the side cover off and could not see the carburator. Think it is under or behind the gas tank. When I get back home perhaps I can look for the hole you mentioned and then post again.

If you use it just a little like a lot of home owners do just keep it oiled with a squirt can. If you use it a lot that would be a lot of trouble. I used one like that for years.
