Whizkidkyus 09-23-2012 19:21:47 64.130.151.65 Report to Moderator	Do they make a tool for removing / installing the clutches on two cycle engines like chainsaws , weedeaters ,etc. I'm talking about the clutches like on a weedeater that turns the cable to the twine heads or the chain on a saw ? You might be able to find what it looks like on the internet. I remember on the old homelite saw that we had, it looked like an adjustable pin wrench, that HF sells. I once made one, out of a flat piece of metal, and drilled 2 holes, at the right width to engage the holes in the clutch, and used 2 small bolts, to engage the holes. Lots of these clutches are LH threaded, so if it don't come off, try reversing direction! [Reply]  [No Email]

I am not familiar with new chain saws 'cause it as been about fifteen years since I bought a new chain saw. But yes, years ago some did have a tool available to aid in removing the clutch. Concerning the weed cutters, I have seen quite a few that had a screw that held the clutch drum on the shaft. It was accessed by removing the drive shaft and then removing the screw. The clutch shoe asmbly screws onto the shaft on many models. As I said, kinda depends on how the clutch is designed and made. [Reply]  [No Email]
