Torque settings on PTO clutch for Scotts S2554 tractor

Great forum. I need the torque settings for the PTO clutch on the bottom of a Kohler CV725S motor. The bolt takes a 5/8" socket to remove and install clutch, if this helps. Thanks again for all of your great support.

WOW!!!!

I just logged on and was going to ask the same question for my Cub Cadet 2518 PTO clutch. I replaced a bad bearing at a cost of $23.00 and avoided a new clutch at $220.00 for an aftermarket brand. Just at the last step of buttoning it up and thought I should tourque this to the proper setting.

Also thinking about Loctite on this bolt. What do you think?

I do not find an actual torque spec in the 2554 scotts book, BUT, a gt235 it nearly the same setup. That pto cluch bolt is to be torqued to 45ft-lbs. Applying a small bit of blue, med strength loc-tite is a good idea. DO NOT USE RED, HIGH STRENGTH!!!!!
