The most probable cause is dirt in float needle seat or gasket under float needle seat leaking or cracked, other possible causes, float needle/needle seat worn, float out of level,to check any of the above carb must be removed from eng.If a worn/damaged float needle seat or gasket on seat leaking causeing the problem kohler manual says replace the carb as needle seat is not serviceable, also pushing float up with finger is not always an accurate test as finger can put more pressure on float than gas in bowl.Try replaceing float needle 1st to see if that cures problem along with setting float to correct level. |

| I have replaced needle valve and seat, adjusted float to specs., tried a different float that works in another engine, if I take carb, off and turn it sideways it will not leak, but when I hold it upright, gas runs right thru it. Has me puzzled, am sure it is something very simple, but can't see the forest for the trees. Thanks for the suggestions, I will figure it out. |
