The original subject was "John Deere 116H Lawn Tractor".
Well i have the exact same problem and found the most intreting problem. The T that supplies the vaccuum for the carb and fuel pump was slightly melted and was actually plugged. As soon as I changes this it ran better than ever. Might not be your problem but solved mine.
