Chances are, you will have to change the points (or at least file them).
Considering the condition you say the gas tank was in, I would get a kit and carefully rebuild the carburetor.
If It is labeled LGT-100 and not just Ford 100,
it was built by Jacobsen who furnished this style tractor to Ford from 1972 'til around 1985. Later Ford tractors were built by Gilson and, in my opinion were not as sturdy as the Jake models.
It will have a tubular frame and a driveshaft running back from the engine to a 90 degree gearbox.
I have several of this series which goes all the way up to 16 HP (LGT-165).
I'm not even sure where the serial number is located on these myself.
