Cub 682 won't Move

HI,
I have a Cub 682 that sometimes will not move. I can see the linkage moving the level on the hydrostatic drive. Fluid level is fine. If I run the levers from limit to limit (with engine off) several times It may work. This thing sat outside for a few years and was working pretty good. Until this started happening.

I'd like to find a breakdown of the hydro unit so I can figure out what’s going on. Looks like the aluminum case model.

There are a couple release valves on the pump so you can push the tractor without the engine running. The old type have a couple buttons on them and a lever on the tunnel cover that pushes them down. The replacements are automatic and open when the engine is off. If your linkage is fine I'd suspect the release valves.

no I have not. but i would think a plugged filter would either work or not. Not work one min and not the next and then work again.

Kevin in MN:

With the Tunnel Cover off, start the motor and observe the Drive Shaft. There is a "Coupler" at the Hydro Transmission input shaft. See if that input shaft rotates with the Drive Shaft. If not, that coupler is secured to the input shaft with a "spirol" (or coiled) pin. These pins ocasionally break.
