So I passed a yard sale sign that said tractor for sale. I had to stop. I found a Cub Cadet 2185 for sale. It was in good shape with newer tires, hardly any dents, very little rust (only on small spot on the front grill and a few spots beneath the rubber foot mats) and intact working headlights. The owner grabbed a key and started it right up. It sounded good and he demonstrated the forward an reverse hydrolics to be in good working order, engaged the blades and cut a row of grass. How much I asked. Expecting to hear between 600 and 900 dollars. He said he would give it to me for $400. I also saw a nice looking ExCell 2300 PSI pressure washer sitting among the sale items. Long story short I pulled thr trigger on the tractor and the pressure washer for $350.00
Did I get ripped off? Get a great deal or what? I mowed with it today and besides there being some indication of a blade sharpening or perhaps an out of balance blade it ran and cut great!
There are a few wavy areas where the grass was cut unevenly, but all in all, a good cut. I have never had a Cub Cadet so I don't know what to expect. It did seem overly hot up frnt when I checked under the hood after about 45 miutes of cutting, but again, I've not had experience with these mowers. I am coming off a smaller 13 HP Scotts(JD), so maybe the bigger motor gets hotter. Help me out and let me know what you think, please.
Thanks,Jeff
