How to open 206-545C Peerless Transaxle

Hi all!

I have removed the transaxle from my Craftsman LTX 1000: it was popping out of 4th and jumping into 5/6th.

It appears the it is sealed. I know enough not to pry the aluminum case with chisels and the for fear of damaging the lip or cracking the case.

But... how do I go about splitting the case?

did you remove all the bolts in the case

some have a bolt under the pulley

I just got back from washing it and I'll have another look for bolts.

Task accomplished. I used an old wood chisel and c a r e f u l l y tapped it open! Next!
