I posted this on the JD Forum but no bites, I tried flowcharting this when I was working on the lawn tractors (the Air, Fuel, Spark = combustion) I had everything or so I think and it won"t fire and now just clicks.

I got a bit of a problem for you all. I have a 05 L130 w/23hp Kohler. Last year the gasket on the gas cap fell off into the the tank and I think went up into the fuel line. Finally got around to blowing it back out yesterday and got fuel to the filter and then to the fuel pump.

Wouldn"t kick over - checked to see if there was sparking with my spark plug tester the light was blinking like it should.

Decided to try and flush out the carburator...figured it was varnished gas that wasn"t letting in the fuel through.

Took the battery off and tried working on the L110 and wouldn"t turn over. Just made a clicking noise. Put the battery back into the L130 and tried to crank it over. It too started to make the same clicking noise and wouldn"t turn over and the positive battery terminal sparked.

I took the battery to Advance Auto to have them deep charge it. The battery test said that it was low but a good battery.

I guess I"m curious, what did I do wrong or what is wrong so I can fix it? Because of the rain I"m almost able to make hay from the grass thats how tall it is on the side of the house LOL

Thanks for any help or advice you can give me,

You need to make sure all connections are clean and tight. That includes where your battery is grounded. Is that the solenoid that you hear clicking? Make sure all the connections are clean and tight on it. It may be defective. Hal
