It would help if you would post the ENGINE make and model #, typically found on the metal shroud around the flywheel.
 
What are the symptoms? Will it throttle up? Does it lose power? This vintage Power King typically had Kohler engines.
 
Dawn, many "doesn't power up" issues relate to having adequate fuel flow through the entire fuel system to the engine rather than the governor.

Could be clogged air intake/filter or clogged muffler, as well as a few other things. You can view or download the shop manual for FREE at the Kohler Engines website. (Sounds like it's a K-321.)
