Burns riding mower

i have a burns mower dont know much about itits a model 4455 38" deck 14hourse brigs up draft carb.mower deck is square has gear boxes on deck gears and rear end like cub.has belt driven generater.runs needs alittel work bit in good shape.dont know what color to paint it has front blade.lot of people say never herd of them
 
Your Tractor is probably called a Penfield suburban tractor made by Burns Manufacturing Co, Inc. Louisville , Georgia. It should have a Penfield Decal down both sides of the hood toward the front. They used both Briggs and Clinton motors and were made in the early 60s. I don"t see a lot of them at shows here in Illinois. If it has the orginal engine you can date it.
 
THANKS FOR INFO.SUPPOSED TO BE ALL LIKE FROM FACTORY.FRONT BLAD WAS WITH IT.GONNA TAKE APART AND REPAINT. I DONT KNOW WHAT COLOR IT WAS.SOME BODY SPRAYED IT A LIGHT GREEN WHEELS ARE YELLOW.IVED FIXED UP MY JD 318 and 110.some tractors.some of them are being shown.

did they make a lot of these mowers.ill try to put a picture up soon.a friend said he could post it.were these mowers good. were there more implements made for them.
 
does any one somebody who ownes a burns riding mower.Mr Davis gave me some info.just trying to find all i can about them.want to fix and mowe and use blade.always liked old tractors.first old riding mower.want to fix it right.will probley show some if can find show close.
