i have a Honda GC160 and need to attach a pulley to the shaft for my tiller. What type and size of bolt is needed, is it metric size? thanks Amo

I just put a pulley on an 8 horse Honda. The shaft was 25 millimeter The shaft was threaded for a large nut on the end ;, metric but I don't know what size. I purchased a pulley with a taperlock bushing size 25M from Surplus sales. I have know idea what sie shaft your engine has but I'll bet it and everything connected with it is metric. If you go the route I did, don't over tighten the bolts in the hub or you will break the Chinese pulley. Hub $5 5" pulley $10.

American engine probably would use a 3/8" NF capscrew. If that doesn't thread in and it's metric I would GUESS 8mm or 10mm X 1.0 threads.

Shouldn't be TOO costly to pick up a couple of capscrews and try 'em!

NAPA auto parts has an assortment of metric nuts
and bolts. Most others probably do too, as well
as farm stores. I purchased a nut and bolt of
each size available, from small to large, and put
them in small see through plastic bags, and in
a drawer in my bolt bin. Now I can compare and
even thred on a screw or nut that I think is
metric, to be sure it's a "FIT". Of course I also
have a calipers, and inch and metric thread gages
