would like to change the fluid in my tractor,s peerless hydro unit , book says to use type A or type F automatic trans fluid . what is today,s equivilant atf ? what about hytran ? thanks for the help

You can still get Type A form Wal-Mart, Napa or any good auto parts store. I think you can get Type F yet. I think I remember seeing it at Wal-Mart.

Mine all call for type F, Wally world still carrys it and any good auto parts store should have it.

I asked the same question for my Sunstar which called for type "F". Wanted to know if anyone had found a better product and one of the guys switched his to Dexron-Mercon, the replacement for type "F" in the new vehicles, mostly Ford, and he said it works better in the cold weather and is quieter. Trying it in the Sunstar to see how it works.

I changed mine to Dexron about 10 years ago. In Feb I'll will have owned it 40 years. I changed the filter too. Hal

"BLAINS, FARM-FLEET" stores, in Wisconsin has
both kinds. Most of their private label oil is
Citgo brand.
