The brake band on my 220 came unbonded. Dealer wants over $80 for a new one. Any ideas on what to use to rebond it?
Thanks, Barry

Take note of where the lining is positioned on the band. Use a wire wheel to clean the band to bare metal and then use Brake Cleaner to remove all traces of dirt and grease/oil. Sand off any old adhesive on the lining. Use regular contact cement to coat both items. Allow to dry completely. Line up the one end of the lining with the correct spot on the band and roll it into position, keeping it square with the edge of the band.

Install the band on the brake drum using a C-clamp to apply pressure. Use a soft-faced hammer to tap the outside of the band to make sure 100 percent contact has been made. Clean off any excess glue and paint the band Power Red.

When dry, install the band and adjust it properly.

Just so you know.. New band material can be ordered from McMaster-Carr.
