JD 214/312 carburetor question

I have an opportunity to purchase a good used carb that came off a JD 312 tractor and was wondering how well it would work on my 1986 JD 214 tractor. Is there any modification that may be neccesary or adjustments? Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

it should work if the part the choke cable hooks onto is the same

What's wrong with the 214 carburetor?

The 12 horsepower 312 would have used a carburetor with a 26 venturi and a 214 should have a carburetor with a 30 mm venturi. It would work ok but would reduce your power a little.

I wasn't aware of the differences in the two carburetors; perhaps I've should have done some more research. Anyway, I've purchased it and I was hoping it would be exactly as the 214 carb. My carb the body is wore out where the throttle shaft goes into-that's why I was searching for a different carb.
