JD 260

Bought a JD 260 with the 46 inch deck this weekend for a little over $300. Is there any major problem areas with them? Going to get keys for it Tuesday, the key for my JD 314 won't fit. Think I will wait to buy the primary mower belt until after I have it running. Feels like good compression. What would be the year model for M00260T 476340? Anyone have a cheap service manual for one? Or get from Ma Deere?

Well a couple of keys from Ma Deere, a new battery from WallyWorld and some 89 octane and it runs. Sounds pretty good. Need to buy the latch to hold the steering column in place and the primary belt for the mower. Thinking about a new drive belt just because it is so far up in there. Anyone parting a 260 out that has the shields for the mower deck to protect the belt and pulleys? Just for grins I looked on jdparts and the shields show to be $89.25 each if they are available.
