bolens 1455 with a 4 cylinder

can anyone tell me anything about a bolens 1455 with a wisconsin 4 cylinder engine in it. what year is it? is is worth anything? etc.

Yes. If it has a Wisconsin four-cylinder engine, it's homemade. 1455 came new with a single-cylinder engine. Some 14** series had Wisconsins and some Tecumsehs - all around 14 horsepower.

Only Bolens we ever sold with a gas four-cylinder engine used a Renault straigh-four engine from France.

Is it a V-4 Wisconsin, or an inline 4 Wisconsin?

A guy across town from me had a 14** series Bolens that he stuck a VFD into years back. Think it might of been a 1453 or 1456. He died last year. Hey . . . maybe you've got his? From central New York, town of Worcester, in Otsego County. Old-time mechanic Ken Bangston built it.
