I have a 56 Fordson Major Diesel. ID label says Made in England. It is basically all Blue, but the wheels look like they were originally Orange, but painted over with Blue. I have seen pictures of many Fordsons, but most were Blue with Orange wheels. What color should the wheels be? Where can I get the closest to the original color paints here in the U.S.?? Thanks in advance

Robert, The correct colour for your wheels is Fordson Wheel Orange, but this is no longer available. Almost identical is Howard rotorvator orange which I believe should be available in the U.S. Any problems, e-mail me.
Regards,
Peter.

Peter, what about the Blue? Is it called Empire Blue or Fordson Blue or what? I just want to be
specific when I order. Thanks, Robert

The orange is almost a yellow and old Fiat tractor orange is close.

Thanks Steven. Boy if this Orange is almost yellow, I am color blind. It is about the same color orange as a pumpkin, as best I can tell. I have seen a yellow Fordson, and the wheels on my Fordson are not yellow.

The blue IS caled Empire Blue. To my knowledge Fordson used two different blues. Empire Blue (Dark Blue) on the Majors and Power Majors and a lighter colour blue on the Super Majors and for the Fords in later years a lighter blue again. I can still get the paint from my Ford - New Holland Dealer. might be worth a try for you? The wheels can be either Red or Orange. The Red looks to me, bit like the colour they use on New Holland equipment and the orange is very close to the Howard mentioned earlier.
I hope this helps...
