fordson major 6 cylinder

Hi To be honest the best bet you have of owning one of these 6 cylinder E1A style majors is build it yourself like most guys in North America. They simply aren't around here in huge numbers to buy ready built, like they are in England/ Europe due to guys building them to work/show or tractor pull with . I have 2 here in Canada, one that I owned in England that a friend built in the late 60's, and another part built using a super major and a 150hp 2704 ET industrial engine I was working on neither are for sale sadly.

Basically there are thousands in the other places , and probably only low hundreds if that in North America if you are lucky, Here there was more options of higher HP factory tractors we didn't have in England or the price was high, so guys converted the common Majors with the 6cyl ford engines or the Nuffields from the same time period with the BMC or Leyland truck motors.

There was and still is a fairly strong supply of the motors over there. Here the Ford diesel you need was in very few things to find the original 6D that fits real nice. There are some New Holland combines had the later 2700 turbo and natural series that fit but need more work to build them. There was a few in industrial compressors, and there was a small number of trucks and power units here with them to.
To be honest This is not going to be like buying a 4020 Deere on craigs list, unless somebody that has one passes away or moves into a retirement home or something.
Regards Robert
