Simms injector pump overflow

I know they will drip out of their little line on the bottom but how much?, mine seems like a constant drip at times and a waist of fuel.

(quoted from post at 19:13:26 05/06/17) When is the last time you drained the sump and put clean oil in the sump?
I thought Simms were lubed by diesel only and if not how do you drain the sump and where do you put the oil. thx

The pump itself is lubricated by diesel but the Simms Minimec pump has a compartment with the
mechanical governor in it, separate from the pumping elements that is lubricated by oil that has to
be changed.

If the fuel is coming from the "pigtailed" pipe on the pump body it is the overflow from the cam
box which does not have oil in it. The only time this area needs oil is when the pump goes into
storage. Once the engine is running the diesel does the lubrication.

I would not worry about a drip from the "pigtail" pipe. It will be worse if the tractor is just
running around not working. A bit of hard work on the cultivator or plough may sort it out,
otherwise it means the pump needs work.

She does need a good workout, only had her for a couple of months so mostly just running around and light duty so far, thx.
