Valve Stem Seal

57 Major

New User
Hello everyone. I am a new member here. I have a question regarding valve stem seals on a 57 Major. I was in the process of adjusting the valves when I noticed the #4 cylinder exhaust valve spring was split in two. Upon removing the spring retainer, I noticed a small and heavily worn out seal below the keepers. Any input on this little guy and where someone might be able to get any? Thank you.

They didn't have umbrella valve seals when they left the factory, someone has installed them later.

A REAL auto parts store or auto parts store/machine shop can find you some by dimensions.

The seal I encountered was of a different type, similar to an o-ring the size of the keepers. We have a good local place to go to like you have suggested and that is my plan to see if we can match something up. However, when you look at a parts breakdown through New Holland, they show a seal like the one I am after. I ordered accordingly and naturally the number subbed and in turn got me the umbrella seals. Is this an alternative to the seals once used below the keepers I wonder?
