FMD starter

Curious does anyone have experience with Silver Fox Tractor Spares Ltd as a reliable and legitimate source of tractor parts? I'm wanting to take the plunge and get a new starter for my Fordson Major. He, she just seems to need an electrical boost to make contact to start. I've replaced primary cables and selenoid. It's willingness to start on it's own without the boost is getting few and far between. Majorman says it may quite likely be my starter. I don't want to send money in a direction that is not legitimate.

Silver Fox has a good reputation, some of my friends use him.

If you do not mind if she is not perfect as she left the factory, a starter from a 4000 or 5000 will bolt straight on but you have to slightly modify the wiring to either a push button or key switch for the solenoid. The engine mounted tool box will have to be fitted elsewhere as the solenoid comes over the side frame.

Thank you.I very much appreciate your knowledge. I passed a parked Major on a side road a few weeks ago, when I get time I might drive that way again. I am interested in the pto reduction add on. It might be just as well to buy a new starter and you know what you got. I want to do a little plowing with this tractor and will run out of time if I'm not careful. Thanks again.

X2 for using a 4000 starter as a replacement. I used one and found that it spins a little faster and the engine starts quicker.

Got the new starter, and it started right up as is said somewhat quicker but also new. Thanks for the input. Especially Majorman.
