picked up a cheap dexta today po said he was brush hogging acouple years ago on a steep hill & it popped out of gear. he tried all gears but
wouldn't move in any of them. im thinking the drive coupler broke. whats your best guess? i'll start checken her out as soon as i get some
other things caught up. thanks in advance for ur help

thanks for the reply hadn't thought of that. clutch or coupler sounds better than torn up gears in trans.drained fuel tank, need to rinse it&change fuel filter &then see if it will run& then figure out the driveline problem.

Check the upset end of the shift lever for wear.
I had the same problem, built up the end of the lever-end of problem!

pulled shift lever assembly out today, fired it up none of the gears r turning, guess its a clutch or input shaft issue. new problem also, as it ran awhile rpms climed quite abit & wont idle down. im guessing diaphram in pnuematic gov has probably got a hole in it? low idle screw is backed all the way out & arm on butterfly shaft is contacting it ???

A fault on the shift levers would not cause no drive, you would not have been able to get it out of gear. If it has not been abused the gearbox is pretty bomb proof, the clutch is the weak spot and the most likely cause of your problem.

Diaphragm would be the cause of your excessive revs. Not a big problem they are fairly easy to change and are available.
