Value of restored 1922 Fordson

Three years ago we restored a 1922 Fordson for a family, and one of the members wants to buy out the others'share. The extent of the restoration incuded rebushing and new bearings in the front axle,a valve job with 4 valves and 2 guides. We replaced the manifold assembly with new,and most of the ignition system. We recored the radiator, installed new bearings in the fan assembly, cleaned the fuel tanks, cleaned and painted the tractor. The family regularly starts the tractor and it is in very good condition.Does anybody know what this tractor is worth?

Unless it is exceedingly rare the market has cooled on 1920's vintage tractors. Unless the right buyer is out there waiting the restored tractor is probably not worth all the invoices that it racked up to make it that way. I would guess 2000 dollars at the most. I think the supply of Fordsons is ample for the demand that exists for it. Kind of like Farmall H's except the H is newer enough to stir the sentiments and have more recent family connections.

Yes NY986,that is what I guessed the value would be.We billed way more than that!We have restored several tractors, and almost always have more in them than they are worth. My own JD GW has cost me $5500,with out any labor billed out.I have $3500 in my Farmall 400D,it runs great, but needs the power steering repaired, but the fast hitch is tight and the TA works good.It does a nice job pulling the fast hitch 3-16 plow I have.Thank you for your reply.

I do not know what it is worth. That said 3 years since a rebuild is not long. So what was the total cost of the rebuild? And did any one of the 3 family members pay the rebuild or somebody else. I am thinking if none of the 3 that has it now paid into rebuild then split the rebuild costs 3 ways and the third of the rebuild cost would upon getting rid of it would go to each of the owners. With the fact that one of the owners wants to buy the other 2 out then 2/3 of rebuild cost to the others would be about right.

a none restored fordson f over here is around £900-£1200 depending on condition. Poor condition may even be lower.

A restored one may go for £4000 but I have seen them for sale for a very long time. Auction prices for a collectors F in original but restored condition, dry stored went for £3900. There is one up for sale for £6000 which has had everything you mention but that has been for sale for almost 12 months.

Your restoration and price means absolutely nothing to the price of the tractor so they would need to forget that even happened. The fact it has had all that is certainly a plus point to the buyer but as there is still loads about (so im told) the price is not a price for a rare tractor yet. I put a lot of money into my tractors but I know I will never get the money back but I will get the enjoyment out of it.
