FPM cast front wheel search

I have a power major with the uk solid cast front wheels, however they don't match as one is three spoke and the other is four spoke. I would like to find another 4 spoke so that they will be a matching set.

In the US, most, if not all, New Majors came with stamped disc front wheels.
The E27N's, which were sold in Canada, and seldom in the US, had the four spoke
cast wheels with 19 inch tires. I'd be surprised if Don, in Unity, Sask. doesn't
have some.

majorman, where are you located? also if im not mistaken the e27n wheel is slightly differnt than power major.
I didnt know that about the 3 spoke wheel, but i just like the look of the 4 spoke better.

Hi I got 2 of 3 spokes and 2 of 4's I Shipped them from the U'k to Canada 15 years ago in my container with tractors and parts, I was thinking of scrapping them until prices tanked . I think there is 1 or 2 more sets here someplace from 27n's as well i picked up here in Canada and scrapped the rest after taking the goodies off that were worth keeping.

just guessing your not even close to Manitoba Canada as with Brian being in the U.K the postal department might dump a kidney when I turn up with them L.O.L. I think the early 27n ones might not of had the cast dust ring, on the back as they came from the old N model. Not sure when they changed the spindle dimensions on the 27n and if that affects fitting or just bearings that can be swapped. But I'm sure the last wheels swapped over as the spindle was the same as the new style major when it was launched until the last super major, guys swap the hub and pressed tin wheels all the time on those, and I have seen them on the 27N as well here in Canada when guys couldn't get 6.00x 19 tires easily in the 70's or so i'm guessing.

Hi kinda what i figured thats to far away for freight, I have had a couple guys would be interested from another forum but it's the same deal. I wanted to buy a Digger from New York , Pennsylvania, or New Jersey. The Diggers were the cheap part by the time I jumped through all the export hoops, and trucked it to the Manitoba border at ND or into Canada. The machine looks like it's coming from the U.K as it's cheaper to buy there and I get a better spec machine, even adding shipping costs. Kinda crazy when a guy thinks about it !.

I am in England.

The E27N four spoke wheel did not have a flange to keep mud and dirt from the seal area. The E1A Majors had four spoke with an inner flange. The Power and Super Majors had three spokes and a flange. New Performance Super Majors from 1963 had steel plate wheels but could be fitted with the earlier cast ones if required.

Hi Mike, google Wisconsin Tractor parts in Black Creek, they have one of each.
I also have a "Not For Export" Major and have been looking for a set of the cast wheels for several years, a week after I finally got a set, another set came in at the local scrapyard.

Just to get this right, from 1948, when the P6 appeared, the Major,[as it was always known in the day, latterly E27N ] appeared with dust rings on the four spoke cast wheels. These changed to three spoke with the Power Major till the NPSM went to 4.5" 'tin'. Bear in mind though the E1A majors always had the option of wider pressed steel wheel and tyre options, front and rear. And I'm only talking of European spec too.

Much as the P6 Major had three rear wheel weights per side as a standard factory fit, most NPSM tractors had front wheel weights fitted to redress the lack of weight ! Whether this was a standard fit, a dealer fit to secure a sale or a cunning ploy to extract a bit of extra profit is something I have never bothered to check out
