1923 fordson value

I'm a ford tractor guy from 1939 up so I don't know about the fordsons. A guy has a 1923 fordson. He said it runs good, not a rust bucket. He texted me some photos. When my wife gets up I'll see if she can transfer the photos to my computer cause I'm low tec than with post some photos. I noticed in the photo it has a temp tank on it. So I'm assuming tank may be rusted out. My location is NJ if that matters. He's asking $2000. Any idea on the value and what things to look out for. It doesn't have a belt pulley which I would like to have.

Thanks, Kirk

Seems like a fair deal. New tanks can be had. Must have been someone's pet tractor in the past.

I have a belt pulley in good condition that may fit, it's been in the barn for years as it was off the tractor and just a cover plate in place since the tractor has a snowplow rig on it and the frame goes right by it. Not sure how many variations of belt pulley there were for these

Unfortunately our Fordson has spent the last 40 years of it's life outside and is pretty well done but the belt pulley is in good shape!

I'm not going to look at the tractor until next weekend but if I buy it would like to have a belt pullley for it. Can you send me details and possibly some photos of your old fordson and the pulley Thanks, Kirk

Not having a belt pulley is not a bad thing.
I have heard a few people complain about having a belt pulley fitted when it is not being used.
I cannot comment yet as I have yet to fit mine. Actually owning a belt pulley is handy though but shouldnt be a put off to buying an example as above.
I think a lot of different Fordson pulleys will fit including the ones with a lever from the N and E27 (I think).
Obviously to keep it original trying to source a rockwood one is the way to go but finding a good example is hard work at the best of times. There is a company that can re-laminate new sheets though.

Please check address as I have not received it. Might be trouble with my server.
Thanks, Kirk

I have a friend who has two Fordson tractors that he'd like to sell. Unfortunately I do not have photos of them and he's not that good with tech. He's retiring from work in the next six months and has more projects than he will likely finish in his lifetime. Just like you Kirt he is a true blue Ford tractor man.

Can you or your friend send me the info

Photos would be nice if you can. I probably wouldn't be able to make it up that way until the spring. I've got to many other things going on right now.
