How does the FSM stack up?

Morning Gents.

Last weekend we went to our local Pioneer days at Lesliville.
Amongst the entertainment, there was a tractor pull.
There was all sorts of tractors there, lots of Minnies, JD's, and assortment of Farmalls etc.
No Fordson Majors/Supers at all.
My question is, How would a well -running Major /Super stack up at a tractor pull?
Sorry this is a bit vague, and yes, I know it all depends on what the tractor is like mechanically, And dependant on the operator and all that.
Still, it has me wondering how Fordsons do if they ever compete in these pulls.

Any ideas, or anyone used a FM for this sport?

Thanks in advance,

Richard.

They don't seem especially snappy but maybe there are tricks to change that. The neighbor had one that he used on manure spreader duty, hay wagons, and silage blower.

Here's one of several at the Dalton show

Hi There are a few different ones pulling on you tube in various countrys. as with anything setting them up right helps. In some classes they spin out before running out of power. search Pat Peeters on tube, he posts here sometimes under a different user name but pulls in the U.S with majors

If they would let it run in your area put a ford 6cyl 2704 et motor from a New Holland TR70 in it that livens them up (150hp) pat has one with a tricycle front end on . I got one here part built, but ran out of time/ money for projects like that. There are lots more 6cyls on you tube pulling as well, The super major back end is not as strong as Major and power major, they are good for 1200 hp. A super will take around 500 or so hp with a 6 cyl conversion, with no problem . Many in the UK and Europe are doing that during the season with updated clutches and performance updates, and get very litle problems considering they are getting on in age and originally 50 hp or less .
Regards Robert
