I am confused. The bearing caps, one connected and one on its side are components of the new U-Joint (if it is a $chindler) and if the inner axle shaft and the outer axle shaft are good, all you will need is the u-joint. My curiosity, is, is this the original style u-joint, and the replacment u-joints look more like the one's in the URL. I found in my research that the Schindler had a much better turning radius than the other designs, and the j-joints in your picture look like they flex well. Not sure the new cross-style u-joint turn as deep. I am curious if the newer u-joints are not the replacment. I of course would also buy new bolts, with holes in head for wire-lacing. So, based on the cap design, which mounting type do you have and what is the diagonal measurement?
Anyone else have thoughts on this?
