Dexta hydraulic relief / check valveproblems

When using a log splitter the Dexta hydraulic works fine for a couple of minutes and then suddenly stops working especialy when the pressure rises(Hard to spit log)
To resolve this problem, move the control lever down to lower and move the lever(to external hyd)in and out. Again the hyd work for a couple of minutes.
What is the problem?

It may be that your lift arms are creeping up and the linkage is putting the control valve into neutral. This is normal and may be overcome by moving the control lever beyond the top stop on the quadrant or by fixing the linkage in a slightly lowered position with a chain.

Hi,

You could be correct as the lift does get stuck in the upward position for a few minutes after.
Will try as you suggested.
Thank you,

Another problem that could be related, when using external hydraulics to lift a post driver the Dexta will only operate when the tractor is idling. If I increase engine revs and try to operate post driver a loud click is heard from top of gearbox/hyd and hyd fail to operate until the control valve into returned to neutral.
