There actually was a company formed in Nebraska called Ford Tractor circa 1915 with the intention of gaining Henry Ford's permission to use his name. Ford did not approve and they folded a short while later. This was right around the same time Ford created Fordson due to FOMOCO's lack of interest in tractors.
