Quoting Removed, click Modern View to see In the early 1950's the Spanish company called EBRO were the distributors for the Fordson {new} Major. When Ford closed the Fordson tractor plant in 1964 in Britain, the tooling and design rights were sold to EBRO, and formed a joint company with Ford owning 49% & EBRO 51%. they manufactured the original Diesel Major as the EBRO 48 and the Super Major as the EBRO Super 55 for several years - all the castings show EBRO name not the EnFo name. Massey Ferguson then purchased Ford's 49% share holding, and the original Super Major was sold with MF165 tinwork at the EBRO 150 & 160. Later the engine was changed to Perkins which was built in Spain under licence. This model with several changes continued in production until the early 1980's when EBRO was purchased by Nissan and the tractor side sold off to Kubuta. A new range was manufactured for a few years but didnt sell well, and Kubota ceased production there of the EBRO range. The original Fordson style designs were sold off to a Turkish tractor manufacturer and were in production until recently. This is where new spare parts are coming from today - not the best quality !!! I've been researching the EBRO history for a while, its very complicated!
