I have a 63 super major which I haven't been able to get running.I had it into a Kabota dealership and they told me they couldn't get it running.I brought it home bled the system several times and was able to get it running.Unfortunetly it shut down and haven't been able to get it started since.I live around Scranton PA.Is their anyone around me that can get this up and running for me?

You could also take the plate, held on by two bolts, off the side of the injection pump. Be sure to keep it extra clean as you do it.

With a screwdriver, make sure the slide (rack) moves freely against a spring backwards and forwards. It can stick and give you these problems sometimes. Use lots of WD40 to make sure it is free.

Also check that the small button in the pivot of the stop control is out. Grip it with a pair of pliers and pull. Push it in and out again with lots of WD40.

You should set the throttle half way, the button should stay in then fly out when the engine starts or the stop is pulled.

As said in other posts, make sure all your filters are clean, there is one in the fuel tap that can catch you out.

How old is the fuel? Diesel will keep for a couple years in a closed tank with no foreign material in it. Have you changed the fuel filter? Checked the tank for rust, crud, etc.? Checked the fuel shutoff petcock for blockage? Checked the lines themselves for blockage? Are the injector lines sealing to the pump and injectors? Does the injector pump work? An electric fuel pump will only mask the real problem, not fix it. These reliable old mechanical diesels were designed for gravity feed fuel flow, and work extremely well when properly maintained. Check the whole system front to back before you start adding stuff that was never meant to be there. Hope this gives you some idea of what to look for. Sorry if it sounds like a rant, but there it is.

if its just the fuel your having trouble with you might try putting an electric fuel pump on it 60 bucks at most auto stores
